I’ve been nerding it up pretty hard the last few days. I got my server up and running with Ubuntu Server. SSH and samba are running on it flawlessly. Once I get a longer power cable for it, I’m going to install webmin on it for the days I just don’t feel like flexing my command line mojo.

I did find a perfectly good 40 gig maxtor drive sitting on my desk. I know what computer it came from but I’m trying to figure out where it came from, because I generally only buy Western Digital drives. Nothing against Seagate or Maxtor, I just know what I’m gonna get with their drives.

I picked up some Vitamin Water lastnight on my way out of work, kinda gross. I mean, it wasn’t bad, it just had a funky aftertaste.

I’ve been sneezing like a bitch lately, due to all of the dust I’ve kicked up from my computer cleaning the last couple of days. I’d open a window, but there’s an air conditioner sitting there. HAH!

I’m doing Script Frenzy this year, which is a screenplay writing contest along the same way as Nano. I have no idea what I’m writing about. That’s not entirely true, I do have ideas, but they’re either blatent ripoffs of Office Space or Rounders.

Rachael tagged me on another blog meme.

The first rule of the game is to post the rules of the game. Here they are:

• Each player starts with eight random facts/habits about themselves.
• People who are tagged need to write posts in their own blog about their eight things and post these rules.
• At the end of your blog, you need to choose eight people to get tagged and list their names.

Here we go.

• I’m right handed but I do a lot of poker tricks left handed. For whatever reason, they’re easier to do with my off-hand, such as riffles and flips. I’m not sure if this is related to my carpel tunnel or not, but I do find myself doing chip tricks with my left hand.
• I can take my socks off with my feet.
• I’m constantly rearranging my desk. I don’t by the who fung-shei stuff, but I am constantly finding a better way to have stuff setup.
• I have been shaving for over a decade, but yet the patch of fuzz underneath my lip and above my goattee, the soul patch region,  is still peach fuzz.
• For as knowledgable of a sports fan that I am, I’ve only been to a handful of Major League sporting events; two Pistons games, one Tigers game and a Red Wings Playoff game.
• I love Legos and I purchase them from time to time, still. In fact I have a Lego A-Wing on my desk at the moment
• Part of my desk is made out of unfinished wood composite, and I right notes all over it.
• I love logic games, but I suck so bad at spelling that I play Sudoku instead of crosswords

I’m done with finals, and I’ve got a week off until I go back for more. Next week is gonna be chocked full of sleep and nerdness. I had my math final today, and I’m confident that I aced it. Unless I did a stupid math mistake and got something wrong, I don’t see any reason why I shouldn’t have gotten all of those questions right.

I love the barter system. Will gave me that powersupply today, and I’m going to give him a working harddrive in exchange. I got what I wanted and he’ll get what he wants and it’s not gonna cost either of us a dime.

Work was kinda weird yesterday. The old people were out in force for no apparent, more so than usually for a day that was the 1st or 15th day of month. Sometimes I think that the old people have a forum somewhere where they plot to irate me at work with asinine questions like where is the catfood when they’re standing right next a display of it.

I had my best session of poker in a while Tuesday night. Sat down with 60, walked away with close to 200. It was sick. I’d stay in with hands and they’d hit. I’m not talking like two pair or a straight. I’m talking like full houses and quads once. It was sick.

I watch way to much Metalocalypse too. Or maybe not enough. Whatever

Life’s been a bit dull, but still good. So far I’m two for two on final exams with one left tomorrow. I’m looking foward to a week off next week. I plan on nerding it up pretty hard next. Mostly computer stuff. Will said he’d give me an old powersupply that he has, and I’m going to use that to get a machine run that I intend to use as a file server/print server. Trying learn how to get Samba to run is gonna be fun. I also plan on rigging the “panic button”.

Last night was poker and I was surprised at how hard the deck was hitting me. I had quads and got paid off. I had a couple of boats, and got paid off. It was sick.

I think it’s time for a quick nap before work.

In game 3 of the Western Conference Finals, Scott Niedermayer and Chris Pronger both drilled Tomas Holmstrom into the boards. Knocked the helmet off, lacernations all over his face. Niedermayer got tossed, I would not be surprised in the least if both missed game 4. Homer’s back in the game, but it doesn’t make either of the lesser of cocksucks.

That hit, however, won Lidstrom the Norris over those two, I feel.

Yesterday was poker. I played well, and I had fun, but I only netted like 1 dollar for my troubles. Damn Boyd’s and rivering out on.

I didn’t do a whole lot yesterday besides that. Dad and I did go out into the back 40 and Sawsall’d some trees that had fallen down after we got done mowing.

And today was Mother’s day. Got to do the family thing most of the day and now I’m at Amanda’s playing Exalted.

Cause I could use some lube to go along with the rape I got at the gas pump today. $3.25 a gallon. Someone should be hit, seriously.

I’m still sick, anyone is curious, but I am getting better. I’m right in the “really bad sounding loose cough” stage.
