A post about….things

GBJazzMan| March 30, 2007 12:16 am

Not only do I need to work on my endings, but I need to work on my titles also.

Today after Class, me and some of the guys hung out at Mark’s house. We had some adventures with the wireless router, but it was good times.  Me? I burned 150 KoL turns there.

Speaking of Hard shots, I’m acsended today for the 3 time. Which is pretty cool. With Brad’s help, things are getting alot easier. It also helps that the RNG didn’t bone me during the NS fights.

Played poker today, I won 50, but I felt bad for dad. I dunno if he’s getting on the wrong tables or if the deck’s just cold for him, but I feel bad for him. I did have quad kings tho, which was pretty sweet.

I think I’m gonna start using my camera and my Flickr account. Stay tuned

Dotcha just hate it when you’re like “I’m gonna blog!” and then forget halfway through what the hell you were gonna blog about? Yeah, just happened with me.

Why are my hands always freezing?

GBJazzMan| March 28, 2007 2:44 pm

Seriously, anytime I play poker or goto a coffee shop, my hands clam up and start getting cold, which is kinda odd.

The WinXP class I’m taking continues to surprise me as to material that I’ve never learned and therefore I’m actually getting more out of the class than “This is how you install Windows”.  The book we’re using is actually very well done. It’s the MSCE book, and I’ll give it to Microsoft, they write a pretty good textbook. What is also surprising is that the one moron in the class is starting to get serious about learning. Tomorrow’s lecture I think will be the judging factor as to if today was a fluke or not.

I am all sorts of tired right now, I think my attempt to cut down on caffiene (sweet, sweet caffeine is backfiring on me)

Tonight I’m hitting up the old U to the M – Flint for the Anime club meeting. I miss those guys, and I’m really glad Todd e-mailed me (and that I kinda opened Thunderbird on accident -_-) I really enjoy anime, and they’re a terrific group, life just got in the way.

Staples has a omgwtfbbq sale on Cruzer thumbdrives. 2 gig for $25! I bought one, and I might by another. And I might actually set one up via Hak5′s specs. Which leads into an interesting tangent: Have you ever noticed that everyone on the planet calls the USB memory drives different names? I’ve always called them thumbdrives, I’ve got one instructor call them geek sticks and one of my text books calls them keychain drives. No insightful commentary on this phenomena, just an aside.

I’m at the Beanery killing time at the moment, and  there are a couple of (what are my guess) teenage girls just talking, which is no big deal. The one just keeps rambling about her boyfriend/fiance, and they both sound completely insipid. Is this a maturity thing or do Brad and I sound like that when we Nerd Bomb Panera?

Holy long posts, Batman. I think I need to work on my endings

A post in class

GBJazzMan| March 27, 2007 10:21 am

I’m a posting this during a lull in class. Mainly because I am bored, and also because I feel for you, my reading public. That’s right, I care for all four of you.

I’ve been playing real good poker lately. I walked away up yesterday after 2 and a half hours of playing, with $70 more than what I started with. And for the most part, all of that came on one hand. I had pocket rockets, another guy had kings and another guy had Ace-Jack, and the aces held up. Funny thing was I pushed a guy out of the pot preflop and he would have had a set of dueces. And that’s why I raised.

The Bismarck is in the shop right now, with a rusty fuel line, warped brake rotors and rusted tie rods.  I love that car, but man, when it rains it pours.

Also, I have nothing else to say. Wee.

haha! I’m posting from the internet

Time for an update on the world of Lunchbox!

This weekend I played so much poker. Holy shit. Cash game at Motorcity (played okay), the bingo hall (started off okay, then started to donk chips off), and the home game (came in second after having being very short stack).

Will and I tonight record the first of the new Hoobajoob Report, which I’m in the process of setting up a blog for. I’ll try to post the old reports, too.

I got an email from Todd, of UMF anime club fame, wonder what the hell happened to me. I’m a bad friend (also, forgetful)

There’s a con in April in Troy. It’s a scifi/computer/anime/gaming con, which fits perfectly into my ADD. I want to go so bad. I haven’t been to a con since Acen 2005

Oh well, that’s all I got right now

So much for my grand experiment

GBJazzMan| March 13, 2007 9:15 am

So my plans to use Linux on a daily basis at school had a monkey wrench thrown in it today. In the form of everyone using Windows and such. I’m going to have to setup Chiyo to dual boot so I can use VB. Which means I’m gonna have to reinstall Linux, loosing all of my hard work. Oh well, not like I’m loosing too much.

I’m glad that Will using Linux, ’cause it gives me someone to “talk shop” to.  Like he and I have been talking about just random shit while my instructor has been talking about multiple forms in VB. I kinda already know how to do that.

So the kind sitting next to me is looking at Gaia Online. The /b/tard in me wants to call him a fag, but I know I shouldn’t.

I think I might be allergic to Visual Basic, cause I’ve done nothing but sneeze since class started.

THe RNG in KoL hates me. I need a friggin’ awful poetry journal and it’s not droppin’. Grr.

Well, that’s it for now. I’ll probably post later.

Another post right after another!

Again at Panera with Brad. This time, however, was because I called him to get help with a flat tire. If the Bismarck was a video game monster, you’d have to defeat the tires before you can fight the Bismarck itself.

Tonight we’re going out for my Dad’s birthday. I don’t think any of you care that my dad is 53, but I did want to mention that his back surgery was a success a month or so ago. He’s back doing basically everything he was before the surgery: work, poker, driving. He just can’t lift anything over 15 pounds. I know I mentioned that he had surgery, but I don’t think I ever mentioned how successful it was or not.

So my experiment with Linux is going great. I can play Fallout 2 on my laptop now, which is tits.

Anyway, I’m out.

Brad and I decided that the smooth Jazz reminds us of Sim City 3000 sound track. Now I want to play it.

In the words of Phil Laak, I played some real good A+ genius poker this weekend. At the home game, I did really well, making about 20 bucks off the deal. It started off not so good. In the first game, I misplayed trips and Will turned a full house of me. And while we waited for John and Doty to arrive, we dicked around with stud and Omaha, and when I finally got a hand ( a straight, for people keeping score) and two people had flushes and Will had a full house. So I figured it was gonna be one of those nights.

The second game was more of the same, but then my luck turned. I went all in against Will, John and Tom with Big Slick, and knocked out both of ‘em. I back my way in to Second place that game. The last game, I was on fire, making the right plays at the right time and laying down a beat hand.  It was some of the best poker I’ve played.

I’ve recently installed Linux on my laptop, and I think I’m gonna start blogging about my interaction with it. Should be interesting.
