That’s gonna leave a bruise

GBJazzMan| September 30, 2006 3:53 pm

My “Shooting-people-in-the-face-in-a-non-leathal-way” went well. It was kinda rainy and my aug isn’t as uber as I thought it was. I’m gonna have Doty look at it and see if he can’t figure something out. Also, my CO2 pistol is a monster. All in all, a good time, I just need to figure out someway to keep my paintball mask from fogging up all the time.

I had Eric shoot me in the leg with my pistol, ’cause I was curious as to how hard it hit. That was a mistake, ’cause I had just put a free CO2 cartridge in it. Combine that with Doty hitting me in the same exact spot with his P99, I’m gonna have quite the welt there tomorrow.

I’m in a “do absoulutely nothing” mode right now. Think I’ll probably go up to Whigville, get some beer and program in perl all night long. I’ve decided to make an effort to do more coding and geek stuff and less video games. Not because, I don’t like video games. Hell, I’m trying to play Civ3 and type this at the same time right now. It’s just that, in the long run, knowing perl and bash and how to setup an SSH tunnel will be more useful than how quickly I can pwn the Zulus and take their iron.

Speaking of Civ3. It really irates me when a city has civil disorder like 2 turns before I build a damn catherdral.

For the record, it is McAssCold in my house right now.

Continuing in the vain from yesterday, I’m going to be talking about a sports topic now, this time, hockey.

I got my issue of ESPN the Magazine today (because, somewhere down the line, I got a free subscription to it. Don’t ask me how, because I’m not sure.) Anyway, they have the Wings second in the central division behind the Preds, which is fine. The Preds are a good team and the Wings have a lot of question marks. But I’m sorry, but when we’ve got, on paper, one of the best defensives in the league and a lot of young talent like Zetterberg and Datsyuk, I’d say that’s better than anyone the Preds have got.

That being said, they have to knock the Wings off before I’ll say that they’re the best in the Central. The Wings have been the best in the central for over a decade, I think that they deserve a bit of respect for that.

But hey, what does ESPN know about hockey?

Alright people, peace.

The start of (hopefully) daily posts

GBJazzMan| September 29, 2006 5:38 pm

For those you who know, I did hurt my side working out. And the muscle relaxent that Dr. Swamy perscribed are working beautifully. They’re not making me drowsy nor are they impairing my ability to pwn punk-bitches (or to pwn regular bitches for that matter). And they’re not interacting with my anti-anxity stuff, which is a plus.

I found out today that my prof for Intro to PC (yeah, I know) grades on a curve. Which is good because the first quiz was poorly worded, and the last thing I wanted was some shitty quiz to tank my GPA.

Speaking of hard shots, my prof for Strategies reminds me a lot of Shanti, from UMF. Shanti has an Abe Lincoln obsession, and this guy has a tendency to refer to the frings of the internet as “Crackjobs in their basement in a robe, drinking rot gut and making things sound good.

We’re playing airsoft tomorrow and I’m really excited. I need to get my shooting-people-in-the-face-in-a-completely-non-lethal-way on.

My employer is running a deal tomorrow where if you buy $100 worth of stuff you get a coupon for $2 off of each gallon of gas upto 10 gallons. I’m so glad that I’m not working tomorrow.

Suckers

In an attempt to increase readership and so I have some substance to these puppies, I’m gonna start finding something to talk about besides my life (zomghax). Today, I’m gonna talk about baseball, and if you don’t like baseball (Brett, I’m looking right at you), thank you for your time and see you tomorrow.

As we all know, the Tigers made the playoffs for the first time in 19 years this season, and as such, there is some controversy as to who’s going to be on the playoff roster. One name that has been stated already is pitcher Mike Maroth. A lot of people are ticked about this because Maroth lost 20 games for the Tigers back in ’03 (not because he’s a bad pitcher, but because the team sucked) and they feel that the Tigers owe Maroth something.

I agree with that, but you know what? He’s not healty. If he was healthy, I’d take him on the roster of rookie Andrew Miller any day, but Maroth’s not 100% and the last thingĀ  you want on your playoff roster is finesse pitcher who hurt. I hope that Maroth’s healthy for the ALCS because I would love to see him get a chance in the spotlight

So far so good

I’ve been back in school for 4 weeks now, and as far as I know, I haven’t missed a point in any of my classes. Forcing myself to goto the “fluff” classes is really gonna pay off. Which I had realized that 5 years ago.

So, the pain in my side is not “OMG Colon cancer” like I had thought. Turns out a sprained a muscle in my side working out. Dr. Swamy gave me some muscle relaxants to help ease the pain until it heals.

Beyond that, nothing much is happening in Matt Land. I will be renewing my domain tomorrow, so if their’s a slight hiccup in coverage, you’ve all been warned

God I hate carpel tunnel

GBJazzMan| September 20, 2006 9:39 am

Taking a year off of school I totally forgot about my carpel tunnel. Three weeks into back in school, and it’s starting to act up again. And I need to get a new wrist brace, this one blows. I can type no problem, but the minute I try to write with a pen or pencil or try to use a mouse, and it feels like I’m trying to manuplate the object with block of wood.

So, it’s week 3 and I haven’t skipped a class yet. That’s a record for me, I haven’t done this since high school, which is cool. I’m really shooting for as good of a grade as I can this time around. Most people don’t get a second chance at stuff like this and I’m on chance 3, so I consider myself forutnate.

The Staples in GB opened, and they have McFatty sales on stuff. Like 1 gig USB sticks for $25. They’re U3 enabled, too, which will allow me to setup the USB Switchblade the guys at Hak5 made

And now a quiz, wee.

Fun two days

GBJazzMan| September 19, 2006 6:49 pm

Yesterday (which Monday, for people keeping score), was long. Class in the morning and then work in the evening. Work was long, just like class, and I butted heads with 3rd shift at the end. The guy working Ice Cream on 3rds copped an attitude with me and I gave him the “Does it look like I give a shit?” look. Also, the look on his face after I told him that I wasn’t going to be finishing the endcap because Tammy wanted us to pull Center Aisle so they could wax was priceless.

Today, I worked out and wrote a paper and saw a 4 year old devistate part of the McFarlene library.

Right now I’m at Panara getting some food and reviewing my paper. Also, the Staples is open. You do not realize how tempting it is to blow all of the money the ‘Rents gave me for food on technology. Ohh well

Some updates

GBJazzMan| September 15, 2006 10:38 pm

I’m going to be updating the messageboard software in an attempt to eliminate all of the spammers, who are starting to irate me. Also, I’m going to be setting up an image upload system like what Rob had on his site.

I will update the internets on my progress after I do this.

I could use it as a club

GBJazzMan| 11:30 am

So one of the armrests in the center area of the front seat of the Bismarck broke off. I figured I could use it as a club, if the need ever arised. And hey, I’m one step closer to getting a new car!

I overslept this morning and missed part of my morning class. It was only about 5, 10 minutes which isn’t bad.

I’m into my second week of classes at ITT and I’m glad I did it. Going back to school is seriously the best idea I’ve had in a while.

I should have other things to talk about, but I don’t.

Worst day in a long while

GBJazzMan| September 12, 2006 10:13 pm

There was a sick call today at work. So I covered all of grocery from 9 till 2 basically. I was exhausted. Still am, I guess. I didn’t stop once today, it seemed like I was running all day.

And when I got home, I had homework to do and I didn’t want to do it, frankly.

But ya know what? Coffee fixes everything.

I’m starting to prepare for National Novel Writing Month. I said I was gonna try it last year and didn’t, but I’m serious about it this time. Guess we’ll have to wait and see what happens.

Ode to the Tree

GBJazzMan| September 5, 2006 9:02 am

Dad hired a company to do some tree removal, there were a couple of dead trees in the back that he wanted gone and he wanted the elm next to the house removed.

Well, he had the apple tree right behind the house removed, which is kinda depressing, because I grew up playing around that tree and climbing on it.

I understand why he did it. Every spring we have to get the drains cleared because the apple tree would clog it up bad. Doesn’t make it any less depressing, tho.

My only regret is not getting a picture of it before they chopped it down

Updated-ness.

GBJazzMan| September 2, 2006 10:28 am

Yesterday went from bad, to kinda worse but ended up on a good note.

I worked 8 hours yesterday, which isn’t that big of a deal, but the fact that it’s was a holiday and 1st of the month, it was crazy-go-nuts in there. I was physically exhausted by the time I punched out. Combine that with the fact that I was still sore from working out the past two days, I was pretty cranky.

Well, John was in town, and everyone was meeting at Spencer’s. So I go to hang out and just as I got there they told me that they were going to Halo Burger. So I drove 5 minutes so I can drive back to a restuarant literally 30 seconds from my house. Little peeved. Also, I was shadowed by a cop, not a good time.

I calmed down, we hung out at Brad’s then went to go see Crank. If you haven’t seen it, do yourself a favor and do it. It’s like Jason wrote a movie, seriously.

Today, I got my Finaid straighted at school, and everything went through okay, so I’m actually in a pretty good mood for having to wake up before 10:30 on a Saturday
